One found dead in structure fire

An unidentified person was found dead Friday inside a structure after the fire burning the building was controlled, according to an Adams County Sheriff’s Office social media post.

Adams County Fire Protection District 1 responded to the blaze at 4:49 a.m. in the 1800 block of East Wellsandt Road.

ACSO deputies were notified fire crews found a dead person in the debris inside the structure after the fire was controlled, the post stated.

Calls to the ACSO for further information were not returned by press time.

ACSO detectives, deputies, the Adams County Fire Marshal, and Washington State Patrol Crime Lab Response Team are investigating the fire and death.

The identity of the dead person will not be released until next of kin is notified, the post stated.
