Applications open for art grants

The Idaho Commission on the Arts is currently accepting applications for Fellowship awards until Jan. 31.

These grants recognize outstanding achievements in folk and traditional arts. Three grants of $5,000 will be awarded. These reward the pursuit of artistic excellence, promote public awareness of the arts and help advance the recipient’s career. Applications can be found at https://arts.idaho.gov/grants/fellowships.

The commission also has a program that provides $3,000 in direct funding to be awarded to mentor artists through a traditional arts apprenticeship grant. The grant supports a learning partnership between a master artist and qualified apprentices to continue artistic traditions of a shared cultural heritage.
