Eric Christian Fundin passed away unexpectedly at his home in Phoenix, Ariz., on Dec. 24, 2021. Eric was born on July 4, 1959, to Sidney and Leah Fundin. In 1966 his mom remarried John Phelps who brought to the family, a daughter and three boys. Eric was now the second to the oldest of six kids.

Eric grew up in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He attended Winton Elementary and Montessori School. He later studied Pre-Nursing at North Idaho College and received a C.N.A. degree.

In the early 90s Eric moved to Arizona for the warmer weather which he preferred. He did some C.N.A. work and then in 1997 he began working for Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. Eric enjoyed his evening shift and those he worked with. He considered his coworkers to be his extended family. While working he studied medical billing and coding at Ashworth College. He worked his way up to a Health Unit Coordinator and had been there for 24 years.

On April 3, 2014, Eric married the love of his life, Brad Zuehlke. They brought lots of joy into each other lives along with their four legged furry cats.

Eric is survived by his sister, Barb Phelps Champion (Gene) Moses Lake, Wash; brothers and sister in laws, John Phelps Jr (Corey) Athol, Idaho; Chuck Phelps (Paula) Hayden, Idaho; sister in law Mary Fundin, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; three nieces and six nephews.
