Flathead County Commissioner Pam Holmquist has been voted chairperson of the Flathead County Commission.
The commissioners on Jan. 3 appointed Commissioner Holmquist to the position.
Holmquist replaces Commissioner Randy Brodehl who served in the position for 2021. In January of each year, the commissioners elect the chair of the commission, which is responsible for county policies, setting appropriations, setting levies for county funds, rural improvement districts, and more.
Holmquist is the longest-serving member of the board after having been elected for her first term in November of 2010.
Brodehl was elected in November 2018, and Commissioner Brad Abell was elected in November 2020.
The commission is the executive, as well as the legislative branch for Flathead County, and consists of three elected commissioners who each serve six-year terms and can run for re-election.
