Former Incarnate Word QB Ward picks WSU
PULLMAN — Washington State announced the addition of quarterback Cameron Ward to its 2022 signing class Monday evening.
Ward transferred to WSU after two seasons at Incarnate Word, an FCS school in San Antonio.
As a sophomore this past fall, the 6-foot-3, 200pound Ward completed 384 of 590 passes for 4,648 yards and 47 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
The Walter Payton Award finalist led the Cardinals to a 10-3 record and the second round of the FCS Playoffs. During the 2020 (spring 2021) season, Ward passed for 2,260 yards and 24 touchdowns in six games, with four interceptions.
Ward announced his intentions to attend WSU just two days after Jayden de Laura, who had started most of his two seasons with the Cougars, announced he was entering the transfer portal.
On Monday, de Laura committed to Arizona. Arizona is scheduled to play host to WSU on Nov. 19.
Another former WSU quarterback, Cammon Cooper, recently committed to Hawaii.
