Norman E. Lippert, 82, passed away on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Services will be held at a later date.

Norm was born on November 4, 1939, in Sacramento, California, to Edwin and Bonnie Lippert. He grew up and attended schools in Grants Pass, Oregon. He worked on the family farm and operated heavy equipment.

In 1972, he moved to Sandpoint and operated Lippert Heavy Equipment and later Normco. He built hundreds of miles of roads in Bonner and Boundary counties. Norman Way in Sagle, Idaho, is named after him as he built that area for the land developer. Norm also built several golf courses in Redding, Boise and Sandpoint; including Hidden Lakes Golf Course.

He enjoyed working on equipment and building Lionel model trains.

Norm is survived by Rhonda Thurlow of Sandpoint; two sons, Harvey (Leslie) Lippert of Sandpoint and Harley (Kimberly) Lippert of Sandpoint; daughter, Mitch Widgren of Sandpoint; four grandchildren, Larisa, Karli, Mason, and Taylor; and a brother, Wesley Lippert of Medford, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Larry Lippert.
