KELLOGG — Clark Fork girls basketball wasn't able to put enough points on the board Wednesday night to keep pace with the Kellogg JV team.

The Lady Cats lost 56-33.

Clark Fork fell behind 15-4 after one quarter and could never recover. Head coach Jordan Adams said her team struggled to find the bottom of the net.

"We could not buy a shot tonight," she said. "I've never seen us miss so many shots."

The team played without 5-foot-9 post Grace Yancey and the Lady Cats missed her presence, Adams said.

"She's contributes a ton for us offensively and defensively," she said.

After a slow start, Clark Fork was able to rebound in the second half and score 20 points. Adams was pleased with the way her team handled the pressure the Wildcats threw at them.

"We broke the Kellogg press pretty much every single time," she said.

Earlier this season, the Lady Cats suffered a 54-24 defeat to the Kellogg varsity team.

Eloise Shelton led the team with 12 points and Katelyn Matteson scored 10.

"Katelyn played against some tall girls [in the post] tonight and she handled herself just fine," Adams said.

Paige Valliere added 6 points.

Clark Fork (3-9) hosts Wallace next Thursday.
