The Columbia Falls wrestling team had a solid outing at the Montana Class A duals in Lewistown over the weekend, taking fifth.

In opening pool duals they lost to Sidney 43-23, but beat Corvallis, 65-12 and Hardin 51-21.

In the championship round they beat Dawson County 55-15, but lost to Frenchtown, 45-24 in the quarterfinal. In the consolation semis, they were edged by Havre 39-33.

They then beat Ronan 18-12 in a dual marked by forfeits for fifth place, as most wrestlers had met their five match limit.

Justin Windauer (138) went undefeated over the weekend with six wins and three pins.

Other MatCats doing well were: Josiah Kilman (5-0 with four pins at 132) and Winslow Peter (5-0, three pins at 113). Brandon Role went 4-1 with two pins at 170, and Logan Speed was 4-1 with two forfeits and two falls at heavyweight.
