MOSES LAKE — Firefighters responding to a fire at a trailer house on Marina Drive last Thursday rescued and resuscitated some pets that had been trapped in the burning house, according to a press release from the Moses Lake Fire Department.
According to the press release, fire crews arrived at the burning home at 8:41 p.m. to find the family on the front porch and were told there were animals still inside the house. Braving flames and black smoke, firefighters entered the home and recovered several animals, including one unconscious dog that was revived by oxygen, the press release said.
Firefighters battled the blaze for 15 minutes before declaring the fire was under control, the press release said. However, the home itself was declared a total loss, the MLFD statement said. The cause of the fire has not been established.
