Timmy Glanville and Joey Thatcher each drove in a pair and scored twice, and the Kalispell A Lakers downed Libby 10-1 to complete a sweep of their Legion baseball Thursday at Griffin Field.

The Lakers (24-29-1) won the first game, 16-4.

Nate Skonard and Braden Capser each drove in four runs in the opener, with Carter Schlegel, Brysen Herion and Skonard all crossing the plate three times.

Libby (13-28) led 3-0 in the first innings after Landon Haddock’s two-run double, but the Lakers answered with five runs in the first — Capser’s two run-single put Kalispell up 4-3 — and six more in the second.

In that inning Braden Capser hit a two-run double and Easton Capser hit a 3-run double.

The game lasted 4 1-2 innings due to the mercy rule.

Adam Nikunen threw all five innings for the Lakers. He walked six and struck out three.

Herion also scored twice in the second game for the Lakers, who had 14 hits and took advantage of seven Logger errors to score four unearned runs.

A throwing error on a pickoff play put the Lakers up for good in the first inning, 2-1; a passed ball let in another run and Kalispell added two runs in the second and four in the fifth.

Aydan Williamson had three hits for the Loggers, who were coming off a doubleheader sweep by the Bitterroot Red Sox on Wednesday.

HAMILTON — The Bitterroot Red Sox combined eight hits with 14 walks and downed the Libby Loggers in the second game of an A Legion doubleheader late Wednesday.

The top four in the Red Sox order combined to scored 13 runs, with Conner Ekin drawing four walks and scoring four times.

Libby managed just two hits against three Bitterroot pitchers, though the Red Sox issued nine walks themselves.

Tripp Zhang had the lone RBI; drawing a bases-loaded walk in the fifth. Aydan Williamson had a double and Aiden Rose a single for the Loggers (13-26)..
