For the second year in a row, the NI Lakers 16U legion baseball team took home the WA State District championship.

During its road to becoming champions, the Lakers did what they've been doing all year, overwhelming opponents with hits and runs.

During its first two games of the tournament, the Lakers outscored Shadle Park and Chewelah 24-1.

In its championship game against the Northern Lakes Mountaineers, the Lakers continued to have their foot on the gas, winning the game 11-1.

The Lakers only needed five innings during their opening-round matchup against Chewelah to seal the victory.
