Ewell “Allen” Favini, recently of Post Falls, died in his home Saturday, July 9, 2022. He was 51 years old.
Allen was born Feb. 9, 1971, in La Mesa, Calif., becoming the son of Stan Favini and Marilyn Favini. He was primarily raised in Issaquah, Wash., and graduated from Issaquah High School in 1989. He attended Renton Vocational Institute and Bellevue Community College. He moved to Post falls in 2017 and worked with various landscaping firms in the area.
Throughout his life, Allen was an avid sports nut. He played soccer and basketball whenever he could. Allen was active with the Special Olympics since the early 1990s as a participant, assistant coach and mentor to other Special Olympics athletes. One of the highlights of his life was participating in the International Special Olympics in Ireland as part of Team USA. He also coached soccer for U16 boys teams. He greatly enjoyed “coaching up” newer or less-skilled members of the teams he coached.
Survivors include two sons, his adult son, Noah Jeffcoat of Georgia and his minor son, Kole Favini, of Maple Valley, Wash. He is also survived by his parents, Stan and Marilyn Favini (Julian) of Hayden, Idaho, and his siblings, Ron Favini, also of Hayden, Idaho; Katherine Loucado (Favini) of Maple Valley, Wash.; and Audra Johnson (Favini) of Seattle, Wash.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815. Please visit the Bell Tower Funeral Home website, click on the Memorial Tab, then type Allen’s name in the search box.
