On Tuesday, May 31, Great Northern Disc Golf Inc held its singles league competition at the Baldfoot Disc Golf Course.
Karl Kleinkauf finished in first place with a score of 46 throughout the 18 holes. He started off consistent with back-to-back pars on holes one and two.
He responded with three straight birdies on holes three through five.
Kleinkauf finished his round of 18 holes by birdieing three times in the final four holes.
Daniel Pfeifer finished in second place with a score of 47, just one stroke behind Kleinkauf.
On hole 13, Pfeifer had an opportunity to gain the lead on Kleinkauf, but both throwers ended up with bogeys.
Pfeifer ended with three birdies in the final four holes.
It was mostly a two person race for the day's title, with third place finisher Lucas McCoy finishing five strokes behind the two leaders.
McCoy had a tough first hole where he double-bogeyed. He rebounded quite nicely the next two holes notching back-to-back birdies.
After his spurt, he went on to bogey hole number four. After that, he managed to hit three birdies during the next five holes.
McCoy began to slip down the leaderboard following hole 10.
McCoy hit a triple-bogey on the par 3, gaining three strokes. He managed to take four strokes off by the end of the round, notching four birdies on the final eight holes.
He ended the round with nine total birdies, which tied Kleinkauf as the leader throughout the round.
McCoy played on the same card as Derek Tuttle and Michael Givens, who both finished just one stroke behind McCoy with a score of 52.
Tuttle hit three bogeys in the final six holes, which sealed his spot in fourth place.
Givens gained an advantage on both players during the first hole, where he notched a birdie with McCoy and Tuttle notching a bogey and a par.
From there, Givens couldn’t keep up with the birdies that Tuttle and McCoy were getting on almost every hole. He finished with a total of five birdies.
Paul Stiller also finished with a score of 52. Stiller remained consistent throughout the round with 13 pars. He added three birdies and a bogey.
Charlie Walker notched an ace on hole number two. He finished tied for tenth place with an overall score of 56.
