Ephrata schools sponsor free meals for children

EPHRATA — In a press release on June 6, the Ephrata School District announced that they will provide free meals for children 18 and under throughout the summer.

The program, called the Summer Food Service Program, will provide breakfast and lunch for all children ages one to 18 years regardless of family income level.

The meals will be provided at several locations throughout Ephrata Monday through Thursday from June 21 to Aug. 11. The program will be closed for distribution on July 4 and 5. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The meals through this program are required to be consumed on-site.

Ephrata Middle School

Lunch: 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Boys and Girls Club logo allegedly used in Moses Lake scam

MOSES LAKE — Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin officials are warning people that scammers apparently are using the club’s logo and claiming to be affiliated with the organization. The scammers allegedly were soliciting money door to door along Third Avenue early Tuesday afternoon.
