3 SHS soccer players win Idaho State Cup

Three Sandpoint High School soccer players earned a chance to compete in a national tournament in Orlando, Florida.
Evan Dickinson, Stirling Roget, and Jett Longanecker all teamed up for the Timbers North FC at the Idaho State Cup tournament over Memorial Day Weekend.
The team advanced all the way to the finals of the tournament against the Boise Timbers.
The two teams couldn’t settle their score in regulation, so they went into overtime.
Timbers North FC ended up taking the victory after penalty kicks.
The Timbers North FC will advance to the Far West Regionals soccer tournament June 20-26 in Boise.
If the Timbers do well in the tournament, they will have a chance to advance to the national tournament in Orlando, Florida.
The Timbers North FC weren’t the only team that competed in the state tournament over Memorial Day weekend; the 2009 Strikers also competed in the event.
This was the first time in the history of the 2009 TImbers that they’ve reached the Idaho State Cup tournament.
The team finished fourth overall in their first appearance
