Rains close some parts of Glacier Park
JEREMY WEBER | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 4 years, 3 months AGO
Heavy rains over the weekend have led to several closures inside Glacier National Park as high water has inundated roads, trails and campgrounds.
According to park spokeswoman Gina Kerzman, the closures include:
Inside North Fork Road from Polebridge to Logging.
Kintla Road at the head of Big Prairie
Quarter Circle Bridge Road
Loop A at the St. Mary Campground
The trail from the St. Mary Visitor Center to the St. Mary Campground
Avalanche Lake Trail
With additional rain and high elevation snow expected in the park through Wednesday morning, more flooding could affect other areas as well.
Snowfall could also affect plowing operations on the Going to the Sun Road. West Side crews re-cleared the snow that slid at Triple Arches over Memorial Day weekend and cleared almost to Rim Rocks while the East Side crews have cleared up to No Stump Point and are working toward the East Tunnel.
