Duane Leon Beatson (Shove), aka Duane Jr or DJ, was born on Aug. 14, 1987, to Duane Leon Shove and Deborah Pauline Dodd (Beatson).
Sadly, on June 9, 2022, Duane Jr's precious life ended suddenly and without provocation.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Dodd, his stepfather, Daniel Dodd and sisters Trichelle Dodd and Jenna Dodd. He also leaves behind two sons, Brennen and Christian, as well as his grandfather Harry Beatson, grandmother Carlena Shove and Diana Dodd. DJ has numerous uncles, aunts and cousins who also grieve in his departure.
DJ was preceded in death by his father Duane Shove, his sister Alyssa Christine Dodd, his grandmother Sheileagh Leens and grandfather Donald Shove.
DJ was passionate about his relationship for the Lord. He unashamedly shared The Gospel of Jesus with everyone he knew and loved. He was loving, compassionate and had a tremendous heart for forgiveness.
DJ was baptized as a child and recommitted his life to the Lord on Dec. 16, 2018. Since then, he continually dedicated his time, love and energy to family, friends and others with a deep and whole-hearted love for the Lord.
DJ loved and adored his sons, and he had an infectious sense of humor that amplified his amazing, magnetic personality. He witnessed, created and shared amazing loving-forever relationships.
People who knew DJ loved him. He was the kind of person that people would freely admit, "This guy would literally give you the shirt off his back".
DJ was the best friend to many. He was very much loved and adored by all who knew him.
Along with being handsome and charming. He was great at telling funny stories and instigated hilarious videos with his best friends and cousins.
He always looked forward to sharing time with family and friends in nature, camping, four-wheeling and just being outdoors.
During his academic years, DJ was athletic and proficient in many sports, including wrestling, basketball, softball, football and gymnastics. Throughout most of his young adult life, he enjoyed being in the gym, lifting weights.
DJ was admired by many and respected in his title role as assistant manager at Planet Fitness.
Memorial services will be held for DJ in celebration of his life at English Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the 1133 N. Fourth Street in Coeur d' Alene.
