Our wonderful mother, Doris Darlene Denham, 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at Hospice of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, surrounded by her three daughters. Doris was the daughter of John Smith and Elvena Agnes (Lane) Lycan. She was born on Oct. 11, 1938, on Tahoe Ridge near Kooskia, Idaho.
She was a great mentor to others, a savvy businesswoman, a great listener, cared deeply about others and desired the best for everyone in her life. She loved God with all her heart.
She married Philip "Buck" Samuel Denham on April 16, 1955, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
She is survived by daughters Debra Hallek, Carol (Jon) Ingalls and Susan (Jeff) Rutherford; her grandsons Joseph Ingalls, Donovan (Kristina) Conley, and Shane (Karalynn) Conley; stepgrandsons Jerey Rutherford Jr. and Michael (Brittany) Rutherford; great-grandchildren Braeden, Averie, Bentley, Lorelai and one on the way; stepgreat-grandchildren Lincoln, Claire and one on the way; brothers Alvin (Janet) Lycan, Gary (Claudia) York and Duane (Leah) York; sisters-in-law Mary Lycan and Jean Lycan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Philip "Buck" Samuel Denham; her son-in-law, Robert "Scotty" Hallek; sisters Barbara Rickett and Beverly Jean York; brothers Robert, John Smith "Junior", Roland and Allen Lycan.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery. Masks required.
