Norman “Jerry” Miller, 84

Jerry Miller passed away, peacefully into the arms of his Lord Jesus, on Feb. 13, 2022, at home in the presence of his wife and his children.

Jerry was born on Jan. 31, 1938, in Tulare, Calif., to Norman R. Miller and Gladys Sauerwine Miller. He graduated from Alhambra High School in 1956. After high school he attended University of Southern California (USC) and graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He later earned his Master’s in Chemical Engineering while employed at Rocketdyne (Boeing). During his employment he worked on the Atlas engine development program for the Air Force space program, NASA Apollo Moon program and the Space Shuttle main engine (SSME) Controller software & flight operations support.

Jerry enjoyed many hobbies in his life: tennis, square dancing, Jeep jamboree, camping, volunteering at Real Life Ministries, traveling throughout the U.S., (including his favorite island of Kauai), Europe, Caribbean, Middle East, two trips to Israel (where he was baptized for a second time in the Jordan River) and spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Nancy Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Lisa Sneed; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Ric Meyer; grandchildren: Justin Martin, Timothy Martin, Scott Martin, Dylan and Matthew Meyer, Emily and Blake Schrock and numerous cousins on his mother’s side.

A celebration of life will be held at Real Life Ministries (Building 2) on April 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow after the service at a different location.
