Garrett White

Vanguard men’s basketball

White, a 6-foot-4, 210 pound forward from North Idaho Christian, was named to the All-Golden State Athletic Conference team, the league announced. White averaged a team-best 16 points per game — fourth in the conference — and scored in double figures in 20 of 23 games. White had seven 20-point games, tying his season-high of 26 points in victories against La Sierra (Dec. 30, 2021) and Westmont (Feb. 10, 2022). White was 11th in field goal percentage (5.38) and 13th in 3-point field goal percentage (.388) and made 40 3-pointers during the season.

Sara Muehlhausen

Lewis-Clark State basketball

Muehlhausen, a 6-foot-3 junior post from Lake City High, was named an honorable mention to the All-Cascade Collegiate Conference team, the conference announced. Muehlhausen leads the league in blocks (62) and blocks per game (2.1) and is fourth in offensive rebounds per game (3.1). Her 62 blocks is one off third in school history for a single season. She recorded a season-high 18 points on Feb. 5 against Eastern Oregon, 14 rebounds against Montana Tech, and eight blocks at Evergreen on Jan. 21 which set a school record for blocks in a game.

ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM: Montana Tech’s Derek Pearse (a sophomore from Post Falls High), Carroll’s Jack Peed (senior, Lakeland High) and Max Peed (sophomore, Lakeland) and Nate Masterson (senior, St. Maries High) of Montana Western were named to the Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference team. To be eligible, the student-athlete must be a sophomore and have a 3.25 grade point average.

Phillip Malatare

Eastern Oregon basketball

Malatare, a 6-foot junior guard who played the previous two seasons at North Idaho College, was named the Newcomer of the Year and was tabbed First Team All-Cascade Conference

Malatare was the Mountaineers’ go-to option on offense this season as he averaged 19.2 points per game in 27 games played. He started 26 contests and averaged 30.6 minutes per game.
