The 39th annual Gun ‘n’ Horn show kicked off to a packed crowd on Friday.

From 12 to 6 p.m., attendees at the annual Gun ‘n’ Horn show got the chance to see it all as over 100 tables in the main exhibit hall at the Bonner County Fairgrounds featured equipment and informational booths playing to a variety of outdoor activities.

The show also hosts a horn and skull competition, with entries on display the entire weekend.

“It’s a family affair,” said event coordinator Tom Johnson on Friday. “It’s a good thing for everybody.”

Over 200 guns have been safety-zip-tied by volunteers for sale and display, but the show features much more than firearms.

Ammunition, firearm components, knives, and accessories are a few of the major categories of goods available. However, there are other aspects of the show that don’t come with a price tag.

“Everyone knows each other,” Johnson said. “It’s not like anything else.”

The volunteer-run event is Bonner County Sportsmen’s biggest fundraising event of the year, with proceeds going toward scholarship and firearm education in the county. Youth Day at the Range, Women on Target, and Hunter’s Education are some of the more major events put on by the association.

Admission is $5, with free admission for those under 12. Weekend passes are $10. It’s free to park, and the event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. To learn more about events and classes, visit the associations website at BonnerCountySportsmen.org
