Editors note: Carter Sanroman won North Star League MVP. Sam Barnett was an all-league selection.

The all-league teams were announced Monday for boys basketball following the Idaho state basketball tournament.

Sandpoint’s Rusty Lee and Ethan Butler received all-league honors for the 4A Inland Empire League.

Butler, a senior, was a force inside for the Bulldogs. His size and rebound ability will be one of the major holes that Sandpoint will have to fill in 2023.

Lee, a junior, became more and more dangerous as the season went on for the Bulldogs. The 6 foot 2 guard led Sandpoint in scoring in both of its games against Moscow to end the season.

As for the North Star League, Carter Sanroman received league MVP honors.

Sanroman, a senior, was a leader on and off the court for the Wampus Cats.

Sam Barnett also received all-league honors.

For the Intermountain League, Priest River’s Trentyn Kreager received all-league honors.

Kreager, who had an up-and-down season with injuries managed to join the 1,000-point club in its season finale against Timberlake on Feb. 22.

Blake Barrett also received all-league honors for the Intermountain League.

Barrett, who also dealt with his fair share of injuries throughout the season, stepped up in the scoring column when Kreager went out.

His rebounding ability also improved as the year went on.
