Local photographer Adam Schluter will present photos and stories from "28 Days of Spontaneous Travel Across Europe" during a special night in the Art Spirit at 7 p.m Saturday.

Schluter recently returned from Europe where he continued work on his project, Hello From A Stranger, a series of portraits and images from around the world.

He had had no plans for this trip. He just knew he'd stay the first two nights in Rome.

"From there I let the locals lead me," he said Tuesday. "I didn't include stories with the pictures because I just wanted to leave it up to people's imaginations."

He met people in Rome, Florence, Sorrento and more.

"I used to just bounce around all these cities and countries, I wouldn't stay long enough to get close to the people I'd meet. What I wanted on this trip was to end with a dinner with each person I'd met," he said. "We had an incredible dinner in Turin, with all strangers, an incredible dinner in Chamonix and an absolutely incredible dinner in Venice with all strangers.

"That's the evolution of this project," he said. "Now I'm always trying to get them to go into more personal conversations, just to make it longer and more genuine and more real. It was really, really beautiful."

TV show films backyard renovation, community gathers for 95th Monday Night Dinner

From broken tables and burned mac and cheese to attention from local media, a spot on a PBS show, a surprise proposal and hundreds — if not thousands — of friends made, Monday Night Dinner has blossomed into more than Adam Schluter could have imagined. “If I had to describe anything, I am honestly incredibly humble and grateful," Schluter said Monday evening. "I don’t know any other emotions that could explain what I’m feeling right now. Again, starting from nothing, having nothing, no money — this is only a product of everybody that’s a part of these dinners, the community. We’ve never made a penny. It’s blood, sweat and tears.”
