Patricia Ann DeNeut, 86

Patricia Ann DeNeut, age 86, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, died peacefully on Feb. 28, 2022. ‘Patti’ was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on Nov. 19, 1935, to Richard Henry DeNeut and Anna Mae (Whitman) DeNeut. She lived her entire life in the Eagle Rock district of Los Angeles, to include from early on with her parents and her older brother, Richard, who predeceased her.

Patti graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1953 and attended Pasadena City College before embarking on a career with Pac Bell. She also worked part time with her late brother, Richard, who for many years served as West Coast Bureau Chief of Globe Photos in Hollywood.

In 2021, Patti relocated to Coeur d’Alene to be closer to loved ones. She enjoyed seeing snow again for the first time in many years, loved playing with her favorite pet cat Oliver and referred to living in Idaho as her, “last great adventure”.

Patti’s love of animals led her to become a long-time contributor to Actors and Others for Animals, an organization founded by her friend, actor Earl Holliman, and Patti contributed to Doctors Without Borders as well.

Patti loved to cook and garden, and her favorite sport was horse racing. She was a superior handicapper who for a time co-owned a racehorse at Santa Anita Racetrack in California, where she was a fixture for many years. Patti also enjoyed NFL football and was a friend of retired NFL Coach, Jim Mora, who she grew up with in Eagle Rock.

Patti is survived by her cousins, Sherry Clanton and Virginia Panushka, both of Southern California, and she was loved dearly by her close family friends, Tod and Julie Swindell.

Patti did not wish for a memorial service to be held.
