Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 years, 10 months AGO
Beloved husband, father, brother and friend, Edward E. Boissoneau, 71 of Rathdrum, Idaho, peacefully passed away on Feb. 20, 2022, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Ed was born Sept. 3, 1950, in Chelsea, Mass.; the son of Eugene and Jeanne (Clairmont) Boissoneau.
Ed grew up in Beaufort, S.C., with his family until he enlisted in the United States Armed Forces in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the age of 22. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp for over 4 years. During his service he earned the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Rifle Marksman Badge.
It was also in Honolulu where he married the love of his life, Robyn Brooks, in the spring of 1983. They spent 39 years together as husband and wife and had five wonderful children: David, Joseph, Michael, Stacey and Dan.
Ed was a devoted man and worked for Unitech Composites of Hayden, Idaho from 1991-2012. But he was also a caring — yet stubborn, family man. His family was his life and he dedicated himself to them. In his spare time, he also enjoyed playing the drums, both bongo and conga, the WWE and anything sports related.
Ed is survived by his wife, Robyn; son, Michael (Paige) Boissoneau of Rathdrum, Idaho; daughter, Stacey Robyn of Oregon; son, Dan (Christie) Madsen of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Marie Boyer of Rathdrum, Idaho; brother, Gerard (Yvonne) Boissoneau of Hawaii; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed is preceded in death by his two children: David and Joseph.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30 p.m., on March 25, 2022, at Shepherd of the Hills of Rathdrum, 13911 W. Highway 53, Rathdrum, Idaho, 83858. The Marine Honor Guard will be providing honors at the Graveside Service at 1:00 p.m., on March 28, 2022, at the Washington VA Cemetery: 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Wash., 99022.
Ed was moral, strong and proud to be a Marine. His love and humor will be deeply missed.
