Browning’s Mecca Bull Child and Columbia Falls’ Maddie Robison shared one conference most valuable player award, and Polson’s Colton Graham claimed the other by himself as the Northwest A released its all-conference team Tuesday.
Graham averaged a league-best 19 points a game and was second in rebounding (7.3 average) while helping Polson go 18-8, and claim its first State A trophy since 2007. The Pirates finished third at the recently completed State A tournament.
Robison and Bull Child both led their teams to the State A girls: Bull Child led the league in scoring at 15.1 points a game; Robison was second at 13.6 and led the league in 3-point shooting.
In addition to Robison and Bull Child, Columbia Falls sophomore Hope McAtee was named All-State after averaging 11.7 points and 7.1 rebounds a game.
Ronan senior LaReina Cordova and Browning sophomore Jerel White Grass filled out the first team, in voting by league coaches conducted at the Western A Divisional tournament.
Cordova averaged 10.9 points and 6.5 rebounds; White Grass averaged 9.7 points and a team-best 5.3 boards.
Joining Graham as a boys All-State pick were teammate Jarrett Wilson, a junior, Libby senior Caden Williams and Columbia Falls sophomore Jace Hill.
Williams (18 ppg) and Hill (17.8) finished 2-3 in the league in scoring; Wilson averaged 13.5 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Pirates.
Browning’s Maurice Red Horn III, who led the league in steals and is near the top in assists and 3-pointer shooting, filled out the first team.
