Mineral County Airport is eligible each year for roughly $150,000 in FAA funding that comes from aviation fuel sales.

During the pandemic, most projects were put on the back burner due to difficulty of everyone to meet in person and go to work to get FAA satisfied. The annual grant funding was accumulated over this period so there is enough funding to complete several hangar projects.

During the same period they purchased one of the older hangars to be ready to demo and build a new one. After the engineering, FFA approvals, bidding and construction, the new hanger will be ready for tenants in about a year from this summer.
