CHAMBER BACKS GLENGARY RESORT PLAN
The chamber of commerce voted to support a $100,000 summer resort at Glengary. The project was presented at Wednesday’s meeting by E.E. Harmon of Peoria, Ill., J.M. Teal of Glengary and C.F. Helms of Champagne, Ill. “We have organized the Glengary Recreation company,” said Harmon, “for the purpose of establishing a summer resort of the finest kind at Glengary. We plan a 30-room modern hotel and 50 cottages. We will have a dancing pavilion 100 feet square and courts for tennis and volley ball, as well as a swimming tank and beach facilities. We ask no more from the chamber than moral support and with this, will put the project over in style. We will float a $100,000 stock issue and hope to raise some of it in Sandpoint.”
