HB666: Adult language everywhere

Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 years, 9 months AGO

A March 19 article in the Coeur d’Alene Press reported on House Bill 666. Community Library Network director Amy Rodda and the Coeur d’Alene Public Library director Michael Priest were interviewed for the article.

The article made it very clear that minors need permission to use a library; there are sections for children, teens, and adults; and policies are in place so parents understand what their children are checking out. It seems to me that “adult” materials are not out there in view of children.

However, this big to-do about libraries and smut brings up another issue. Our communities have a number of “adult” materials out in view of children and there is little I can do to shield my granddaughters from this filth.

I’m talking about the flags and signs referring to fornication and prostitution that populate our neighborhoods and are displayed on pickup trucks.
