Schoolyard rant fails to back up claims
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 2 years, 9 months AGO
Through the course of Daniel Strayer’s Feb. 1 schoolyard rant, he lectures us and tries to put words in our mouth. But if you’re a conservative independent thinker, he can’t force you to think his lies.
Strayer claims we don’t use evidence, but he rarely cites his own. He insinuates we’re idiot “watchers of Fox News” and internet bottom feeders, even though most of us form solid opinions from numerous sources.
Man for all seasons, here’s a sample of how Mr. Strayer never bothers to back up his views relative to policy issues, which he claims to be expert:
• 650,000 Americans are dead from COVID-19
• Hospitals at crisis capacity across Idaho
• Over 30,000 debunked lies by Trump in five years
• Keystone XL only 8% built, not Biden’s fault
• Rise in crude oil price back to June 2020
• 26 million acres of active oil leases on federal land
Not one citation used. And Mr. Strayer neglects to support his anecdotes, too. His test on the border is to see if you can breach it yourself. He never shares a personal experience with it.
Read his quote on civility: "This process relies on truth and respect for others, and these qualities comprise the foundation of civility. Dishonesty and disrespect invariably lead to fear, hatred and anger, and a general decline in civility."
Meanwhile Jeanine Betsher in Moyie Springs wrote in a letter to the editor in the Bonners Ferry Herald that Mr. Strayer is a “poor winner” since he’s not happy when Trump lost. She concludes, “.. have you ever seen anyone get more free space to run his mouth?”
