NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
Sixteen members of the high school’s Leohono society and six faculty members enjoyed a lake trip and picnic lunch at Warren’s island Sunday. The party left the city dock at 10:30 in the Ellamae, L.D. Farmin’s launch, returning in late afternoon. Principal pastimes of the afternoon were a track meet, an Indian war dance and a swimming contest. The girls brought home large bunches of spring bouquets, as proof that spring has arrived at one corner of the earth, at least.
The annual flood waters of the Clarksfork river have begun to raise the lake level. In the past seven days the lake has raised two feet at the city dock.
In a letter received by the News, F.M. Coffman, who resides on a ranch north of Culver Spur, writes, “Only eight out of the nine of us are down with the smallpox.”
