Hospice of North Idaho Awarded 'Hospice Honors'

Hospice of North Idaho, our community’s only nonprofit hospice since 1981, has won the “Hospice Honors” award for 2022. The “Hospice Honors” award is a landmark compilation of hospices providing the best patient and caregiver experience.

“We are humbled to once again receive this recognition given to only 1% of hospices throughout the nation. It is scored by patients’ caregivers as we provide care and support for all involved in their end-of-life journey,” said Kim Ransier, Hospice of North Idaho executive director.

HEALTHCAREfirst’s annual review recognizes hospices that continuously provide the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. The “Hospice Honors” award acknowledges high-performing agencies by analyzing the performance of Hospice CAHPS quality measures. Award criteria was based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2020 through September 2021.

“Our nurses, social workers, hospice aides, volunteers and pet therapy animals are all to receive the highest accolades possible for truly caring for each patient and family member with individualized, compassionate, expert hospice care, truly “angels with stethoscopes.” Our community is richer because of their dedication and integrity,” Ransier said.
