Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 years, 8 months AGO
Naomi Jean Allred, 87, passed from this life April 30, 2022, at 4:48 a.m. while resting peacefully and is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus. Born to Ira and Lora Ward on Jan. 1, 1935, Jean was the youngest of three daughters. She lived and attended grade school in Emmett, Idaho, before the family moved to Boise where Jean finished high school, graduating in 1953.
She began working for the Selective Service Department in Boise and later moved to Santa Rosa, Calif., where she worked 14 years at National Cash Register (NCR) as a payroll specialist before retiring in 1991. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Dale, on Aug. 4, 1956, in Boise. They celebrated their 65th anniversary last summer. She was an amazing family woman and a loving mother, raising three beautiful children.
Jean is survived by her husband, Dale; her children, Mark and Jill; and preceded in passing by her son Todd, who went home to his savior 13 years ago. She is also survived by her sister, Belva; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was a social, active person who loved life, was involved in church, sang in the choir and was active in youth ministry for the majority of her life. She enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family. Her family and many friends will always remember her as a gentle and soft-spoken woman with a passion for her Lord. Although separated for now, her memory lives on in our hearts and we look forward to the time when we will be reunited with her in our savior’s presence.
