Whitefish girls sweep set of conference duals last week

The Whitefish girls tennis team took down two conference foes last week with ease.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Columbia Falls 6-1 and Libby 7-0.
On Tuesday, May 3 against Libby, Whitefish’s Anyah Cripe played in the No. 1 spot and faced Wildkat Cloey Ramage. Cripe was able to secure that win in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Whitefish’s Lauren Brown also won in the No. 2 match, defeating Lillian McDonald 6-0, 6-1. Sofie Olson also won for the Dogs, while Emma Shaffer dropped a close one to Columbia Falls. Shaffer lost in a three-set tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-3, (10-8).
On the doubles side, Elliette Haigh and Ashley Gunset defeated Columbia Falls’ Grace Gedlaman/Alyssa Williams 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Whitefish’s Tallory Workman and Emma Trieweiler won in two sets as well.
Against Libby, Whitefish came out strong again with Lauren Brown at the No. 1 singles who won over Jenna Hammond 6-0, 6-0. Cripe, Shaffer and Alivia Lusko also picked up victories over Libby. Cripe, Shaffer and Lusko all won at singles as well.
The Whitefish team of Haigh and Gunst hit the right stroke again, winning 6-1, 6-3, Whitefish’s two other doubles teams picked up victories as well.
Whitefish now enters its final week of regular season play before heading to the Western A Divisional tournament on May 19.
Whitefish hosts all its matches this week, playing Ronan and Polson on Friday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively. On Saturday, the Bulldogs play Hamilton and Corvallis beginning at 10 a.m.
