Girls golf takes second at state

I have deep North Idaho roots and graduated from Eastern Washington University with an English degree with a creative writing emphasis with a minor in film. I worked at at the Bonner County Daily Bee before coming to work at the Bonners Ferry Herald in August 2021. I enjoy writing for the paper that my great-grandfather read and covering the same small town community that is still alive today. I cover all things Badger sports, local politics and government, community news, business, outdoors and appear on the 7Bee podcast for the Herald's update. WINDER — The Badgers girls golf team finished second at the 3A state tournament, held May 16-17 at the River Bend Golf Course.
Bonners Ferry golfers fought hard, but fell just shy of the state title by two strokes. Kimberly High School edged the Badgers to win the 3A title with six of their golfers placing in the top 10.
Three Badgers placed in the top 10.
Braylyn Bayer took second in state, just two strokes behind the top placer from Kimberly. Avery Bayer finished fifth and Cali Iacolucci finished seventh. Mia Blackmore tied for 22nd and Holly Alexander finished in 42nd.
The team graduates one senior this year, Iacolucci.
