I have deep North Idaho roots and graduated from Eastern Washington University with an English degree with a creative writing emphasis with a minor in film. I worked at at the Bonner County Daily Bee before coming to work at the Bonners Ferry Herald in August 2021. I enjoy writing for the paper that my great-grandfather read and covering the same small town community that is still alive today. I cover all things Badger sports, local politics and government, community news, business, outdoors and appear on the 7Bee podcast for the Herald's update. When I'm not working I can be found reading a good book and sipping tea, knitting or attempting to sign opera. | May 19, 2022 1:00 AM

Charley Anne Pruitt wears jersey No. 3 and plays every position, but mainly short stop.
Other sports and hobbies she enjoys are hunting, fishing, volleyball and spending time with friends.
Her plan after high school is going to the workforce. Her favorite memories of softball are her huge pants freshman year, going to state during her junior year, “hanging with the homies” and when Kassy [Skeen] slid into second base and broke her foot.
The accomplishment she is most proud of was receiving the Best Offensive Player of the Year Award during her freshman year.
Her advice to future players is, work hard and don’t disrespect head coach Kassy Skeen.
Marisa Shottanana-Ponce wears jersey No. 8 and plays right outfielder and catcher. Other sports and hobbies she enjoys are soccer, napping, procrastinating and being silly.
She said her favorite memories of softball “were bus rides with my homies.” The accomplishment she is most proud of is understanding the game when she’s never played before.
Her advice to future players is learn how to lose; and just have fun.
Maggie Bateman wears jersey No. 9 and plays outfield.
“I enjoy playing the piano, boating, wakeboarding, tubing, knee boarding, shopping and spending time with friends and family,” she said.
After high school, her plans include moving to Utah for work and living with her sister. Then she plans to move to Rexburg for college at Brigham Young University.
Her favorite softball memory was how new and exciting the sport was.
“This season is something I’ll always remember,” she said. “I’m most proud that I decided to put myself out there and play a sport.”
Her advice to future players is work hard and always be supportive to teammates and coaches.
“The attitude and mentality towards a game makes all the difference,” Bateman said.
