Police Calls: Alleys are not for boats

June 11
8:16 a.m. A white Volkswagen keeps parking in the handicap spots on the south end of a building on Cascade Court and the owner will be cited if he keeps parking there.
3:22 p.m. A black Toyota 4Runner changed lanes abruptly without a turn signal before slamming on its brakes on Second Street.
4:30 p.m. Someone reported losing a wallet containing $700 cash, credit cards, debit cards and many other important cards.
5:27 p.m. A shoplifter at a business on Highway 93 reportedly shoved things in her bag, ate food she didn’t pay for and walked out with a box of Pampers.
6:00 p.m. The caller is upset because she thinks she may have seen profanity on a sign in front of city hall.
7:16 p.m. Someone hit the caller’s vehicle in the parking lot but left a note with his phone number so he could take care of the damages.
7:38 p.m. Bad parenting was the concern for a caller who felt toddlers should not be allowed to “scooter all over” the parking lot on Colorado Avenue.
7:49 p.m. Two vehicles suffered a T-bone crash on Commerce Street.
June 12
10:10 a.m. A suspicious canvas bag was left on the north side of a building on Second Street.
11:11 a.m. The white Chevy truck heading northbound on Highway 93 was blowing black smoke and weaving in and out of traffic.
1:32 p.m. Even though he had food and water and the windows were rolled down, the dog in the vehicle on Second Street was barking and causing concern for the caller.
6:53 p.m. Someone lost a small, flowered wallet and was wondering if it had been turned in to the police department.
7:08 p.m. A boat has been docked on First Street for a few days and is blocking the alleyway. The new owner of the recently sold trailer is being sought.
9:30 p.m. It is unclear whether the man in the van who has been parked near River Lakes Drive has an arrangement with the business nearby, but the caller thinks it’s suspicious.
June 13
9:46 a.m. The owner of two huskies called to report the dogs missing. Shortly after, he called back to inform police that the dogs were found.
11:27 a.m. The backpack was found in the deli section of a store on Highway 93 and was soon retrieved from the police station by its owner .
3:07 p.m. Among other complaints, the caller is upset that people are not stopping for pedestrians on a crosswalk on Baker Avenue.
June 14
1:54 p.m. In a case of hit and run, the caller’s vehicle was hit while he was at work on Spokane Avenue.
