District championship season is in full swing here in the Basin, with many area schools competing to make it to state competitions. Check out this week’s sports schedule for teams around the Basin, and check online at columbiabasinherald.com for updates to the schedule as teams progress through their respective brackets.

As for this week’s set schedule as of Tuesday, read along below.

Thursday, Nov. 3

ACH volleyball at Northport - 4 p.m.

Ephrata volleyball at Selah - 6:30 p.m.

Lind-Ritzville volleyball vs Northwest Christian (Colbert) - 2:30 p.m. at Colfax High School.

MLCA/CCS volleyball at Entiat - district championship game, 7 p.m. at Wenatchee High School.

Othello volleyball at Ellensburg - 6:30 p.m.

Royal volleyball vs Wapato - 6 p.m.

Wahluke girls' soccer vs Royal - 6 p.m.

Warden volleyball at Granger - 5 p.m. at Columbia-Burbank High School.

Warden football at White Swan - 6 p.m.

Wilson Creek volleyball at Waterville-Mansfield - 7 p.m. at Wenatchee High School. Winner advances to state.

Friday, Nov. 4

ACH football vs Wilbur-Creston-Keller - 7 p.m.

Ephrata football at Clarkston - 7 p.m.

Lind-Ritzville football at Okanogan - 7 p.m.

Moses Lake football at Gonzaga Prep - 6 p.m.

Othello football vs Shadle Park 7 p.m.

Quincy football at Medical Lake - 6 p.m.

Royal football vs Naches Valley - 7 p.m.

Wahluke football at Wapato - 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 5

Cross Country state championships - hosted at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco, runners from Ephrata, Moses Lake, Othello, Royal, Warden and Wahluke will all be competing.

Othello volleyball vs Grandview - 5 p.m. at Ellensburg High School.

Wahluke football at Wapato - 7 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 6

Additional swimmers from Moses Lake could be added to state competition next week via wild card slots with district competitions around the state ending. Head coach Jason Hart said the team will know by Sunday.

District 6 1B volleyball - includes MLCA/CCS and Wilson Creek; top three to state. Began Oct. 25, runs through Nov. 3.

District 7 2B volleyball - includes Lind-Ritzville; top three to state. Began Tuesday, runs through Nov. 3.

District 5 2B girls’ soccer - includes Warden; top two to state. Began Tuesday, runs through Nov. 3.

District 5 2B volleyball - includes Warden; top four to state. Began Tuesday, runs through Nov. 3

District 5 1A volleyball - includes Royal; top three to state. Began Tuesday, runs through Nov. 5.

District 5 1A girls’ soccer - includes Royal, Wahluke; top three to state. Began Oct. 29, runs through Nov. 5.

District 5/6 2A volleyball - Includes Othello, Ephrata; top team to state, second and third place to District 5/6/8 crossover. Begins Nov 5.

District 6 4A volleyball - includes Moses Lake; top two to state. Began Tuesday, runs through Nov. 5.

District 6 4A girls’ soccer - includes Moses Lake; top two to state. Began Tuesday, runs through Nov. 5.

ROYAL CITY – Royal's girls wrestling team was crowned South Central Athletic Conference league champions at Wednesday’s league championship meet in Royal City, scoring 210 points as a team to win the tournament.

Second quarter run guides Knights to win over Wahluke

ROYAL CITY – A late second-quarter run helped build separation between the home Knights and visiting Wahluke Warriors on Tuesday night, who led 32-13 at halftime before winning the game 70-39. It’s the first of three games for Royal this week; the Knights host Cashmere on Friday and Naches Valley on Saturday.

ROYAL CITY — After a scoreless first three minutes, Royal senior Mariah Wilhelm set up from behind the three-point arc and buried a basket to put the Knights up 3-0, opening the floodgates in Royal’s 59-14 win over Wahluke Tuesday night.
