The Kootenai County Democrats will collect donations of non-perishable food items from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Ramsey Park, 3525 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene.

“We invite our generous and caring community to join us in this nonpartisan opportunity to work together for the common good,” said Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee Chair Evan Koch.

Donations, which will benefit food banks in Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls, can be dropped off at Ramsey Park's south parking lot.

"Last year, generous citizens throughout the community donated 1,500 pounds of food and $2,600 to go toward the purchase of more perishable, in-demand food items," said a press release. "This year, the Kootenai County Democratic Party hopes to exceed that amount, offering compassionate assistance to those in our community who need extra help during the holiday season."

Non-perishable items of special need are canned tuna and meats, fruits and vegetables, pasta and peanut butter, but all donations are welcome.
