Man injured in train-vehicle collision

Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle-versus-train collision that occurred around 5:53 p.m. Tuesday in the area of U.S. 95 and Samuels Road.

A white 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was traveling westbound on Samuels Road when it was struck by a train. The SUV was occupied by a 62-year-old male driver from Naples. He was taken via air ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The driver was wearing a seat belt.

Traffic on U.S. 95 was slowed for approximately one hour as emergency responders worked to assist the driver and clear the area. This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
