POST-ELECTION: Enjoy an operatic reprieve

Take a break from politics.

Hopefully you spent time checking out candidates and issues carefully and perhaps have even voted already. I would like to recommend that the day after Nov. 8 you treat yourself to a wonderful change from sitting in front of the TV looking at the election results…which will still be coming in in some cases.

What I suggest is a visit to Riverstone Stadium 14 for a 6:30 p.m. an encore of the incredible performance of La Traviata opera, originally live from the Met in New York. We saw it on Saturday and it is too magnificent to even try to describe: their voices are like instruments who capture the mood changes as the story goes on, as does the choreography and the orchestration itself. The subtitles tell us the essence of the songs and the plot. The staging, the costuming, the orchestra are simply splendid.

If you choose to enjoy yourself on Wednesday, Nov. 9 for between only $20 and $30, keep in mind that this is not your mothers’ opera.” Not only are the tickets not at all expensive — you don’t have to dress up! People all over the world will be doing the same thing via this tremendous opportunity that the Met offers the U.S. and cities throughout of the world.

All you have to do is go to https://www.metopera.org/season/in-cinemas/theater-finder/ and purchase your tickets.
