A SWIMMING IDEA: Community pool in a restaurant
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 years, 5 months AGO
Do you like swimming, but you can’t very much because Coeur d’Alene has long winters and a membership to the Kroc is too expensive? Well, I am here to propose a solution or just to give out a simple idea to help our community.
Coeur d’Alene should build a community pool/restaurant. This idea is mainly based upon a community pool/restaurant in Bothell, Wash., called McMenamins (wanted to give credit). This idea of a pool will be an indoor heated pool with an additional restaurant attached to it. It will cost $10 to $5 for an all-day pass per person and it will be free for all who live in the city. There also will be other necessities sold like goggles, swimsuits, swim caps, floaties, swim diapers and snorkel gear. Yet, pool balls, swim jellies and pool noodles will be provided.
For the pool itself, there also should be waterfalls falling into one side of the pool, a swim lane on the opposite side of the pool (just a thin strip though), the pool is saltwater, and a sunroof that is sectioned out but can be covered for winter. All of these aspects let the pool gain money through visitors, the restaurant, and other purchases, but it still is affordable, warm, accommodates chlorine allergies and covered from the winter. So, if Coeur d’Alene is able to fund this pool, all who like swimming will be able to swim year-round and enjoy some delicious food.
