COEUR d'ALENE - Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises announced Tuesday that eagle-watching cruises will begin Nov. 19.

Bald eagles are already beginning to migrate into Coeur d’Alene and their migration will be in full swing this December.

The eagles arrive from Canada and even Alaska, seeking milder climates for the winter and their primary meal, the kokanee salmon.

"This landlocked sockeye thrives in Lake Coeur d’Alene, making our area the perfect place to experience these majestic creatures in their natural habitat," said a press release.

Two-hour cruises take place from noon to 2 p.m. from Nov. 19-23 and 25-27, Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18 and 26-31, as well as Jan. 1-2. Ticket prices are: Adults, $24.50; seniors (55+), $23.50; kids (ages 6-17), $18.50, and under 5, free.

Families can also make this an overnight getaway by staying at The Coeur d’Alene Resort. The package includes accommodations at The Resort, two adult eagle-watching cruise tickets and a $30 dining credit.

Tickets: (208) 292-5670 or cdacruises.com.
