ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: McKenna Kozeluh, Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy

McKenna Kozeluh

Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy

Kozeluh, a senior, won her second straight state 3A individual championship at the state cross country meet on Oct. 29 at the Lewis-Clark State Course in Lewiston, finishing in 17 minutes, 43.80 seconds, breaking the previous course record of 18:47.73 set by Fruitland’s Emma Hilliam in 2018 the first time the event was held in Lewiston. “She’s such a hard worker and fierce mental athlete,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Dana Fleming said. “It’s amazing. In our district, there’s nobody that can run with her at all. Every race, she’s managed to get faster and works hard on her own to get better.”
