St. Maries man dies in crash

A St. Maries man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 3 Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Idaho State Police, a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 35-year-old Spokane Valley man was northbound about 3:30 p.m. when it drove left of center and crashed into a southbound Ford pickup truck.

The Ford was driven by a 49-year-old man from St. Maries with his 10-year-old son as a passenger.

The crash occurred at milepost 103.5, just north of Harrison.

The driver of the Ford died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge and the passenger of the Ford were transported to a hospital by ambulance.

All occupants appeared to have been wearing their seat belts, ISP said.

Traffic on Highway 3 was blocked for about three hours.

An investigation continues.
