Josephine Rilliet, 86

Mrs. Josephine Rilliet, age 86, went to meet our Lord as the sun was rising Oct. 3, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones at home. Mrs. Rilliet was born March 19, 1936, in Huntsville, Ala. A daughter of Josie and Howard Matson, who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of five children with three brothers — Calvin Maston of California, Earl and Palmer Maston of Michigan. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Lois Maston Moody of Nashville, Tenn.

After graduation, the small-town girl went off to see the world. She was an accomplished traveler. In September of 1972, at a little church in Irvington, N.J., she was born again, and gave her life to Jesus. She put God first in her life, devoted her time to her children and her church. She was a Sunday school teacher who was loved. If you met Josephine, you would be invited to church. Josephine was a nurse for more than 25 years. Six of those years, she won awards for her work ethic and the care she provided. She retired from nursing to be a full-time grandma. She loved her little rose garden and enjoyed watching the buds grow to flowers.

She is survived by her five children. Four boys Michael Calhoun of Kentucky, Clyde Rilliet of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Charles E. Rilliet of New Jersey, George Rilliet of Spokane, Wash., and daughter Pamela Wallace of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Proceeded her in death was her beloved grandson, Charles Rilliet Jr., of New Jersey.

She adored her grandchildren, Lisa Cox-Rilliet of Reno, Nev., Clyde Cox-Rilliet and Christophor Cox of New York, Eli Rilliet of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Christopher Jimenez and Chaim and Chelsea Rilliet of New Jersey, Chanelle and Tiffany Rilliet of California, Patrick Wallace of Post Falls, Idaho, Cyndal Wallace of Spokane, Wash., Jason Wallace of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Michael Wallace of Post Falls, Idaho.

Great grandchildren Nathaniel Perez, Elizabeth Sandoval, Alicia, Isabella and Makayla Botello of Reno, Nev., Caleb and Jordyn Cox of New York, Julieus Cabrera and Isaiah Beausoleil of Wisconsin.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at English Funeral Chapel 1133 N. Fourth Street, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Coeur d’Alene Worship center 1921 N. Fifth Street, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Pastor Jones will officiate the service. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. A reception will follow at English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, Idaho.
