ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Tevin Burns, Post Falls High School

Tevin Burns

Post Falls High School

The junior running back, getting the start due to injury to the starter, rushed for 204 yards and seven touchdowns on 30 carries — all in the first half — as Post Falls defeated Lake City 49-13 to win its first outright league title since 1995. “We’ve liked him all year,” Post Falls coach Blaine Bennett said of Burns, “it’s just that he hasn’t had as many carries as Jake (Bustamante). I think we did a nice job up front, and Tevin actually ran the ball really well.”
