Kamloops shoots past Chiefs

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia — The host Kamloops Blazers outshot Spokane 62-23, including a 24-4 margin in the first period of a 5-1 win over the Chiefs in front of 4,524 at the Sandman Centre on Friday.
Kamloops scored on its first three power play attempts of the night to take a 4-0 lead after the first.
Jake Gudelj scored his third goal of the year to cut the deficit to 4-1 after the second period for Spokane.
Kamloops added a power play goal in the third to cap the scoring.
Mason Beaupit had 57 saves for Spokane (3-7-0-0, 6 points).
The teams will conclude the home-and-home tonight at the Spokane Arena at 7.
