Order of races: 4A girls, 10 a.m.; 5A girls, 10:30 a.m.; 2A girls 11 a.m.; 4A boys, 11:30 a.m.; 5A boys, noon; 2A boys, 12:30 p.m.; 3A girls, 1 p.m.; 1A girls, 1:30 p.m.; 3A boys, 2 p.m.; 1A boys, 2:30 p.m.

Defending champions: Rocky Mountain (boys), Boise (girls).

Returning champions: Luke Athay, Idaho Falls (boys); Allie Bruce, Boise (girls).

Local qualifiers: Coeur d’Alene (boys, girls), Lake City (boys), Hazel Kunkel (Lake City girls), Taylah Chapman (Lake City girls); Austin Averette (Post Falls boys).

Notes: Peters was third at state last year for the Trojans, who finished seventh … Peters' time of 17:13.6 at the regional meet is the fastest time in the state … Max Cervi-Skinner, who won the 5A regional title on this course last week, was 31st at state last year … Athley, a junior, won last year’s meet in 15 minutes, 19.8 seconds at Eagle Island State Park … Rocky Mountain senior Tyler Sainsbury won the Inland Empire Champions race on Oct. 1 on this course in 14:48, the fastest time in the state … Bruce, a junior, won in 17:47.9 … Samantha Smith of Boise, also a junior, recently returned from playing soccer for the U.S. in the FIFA U-17 World Cup .

Local qualifiers: Sandpoint (boys, girls), Owen Elizondo-Bachiero (Lakeland boys).

Notes: Lakeland senior Owen Elizondo-Bachiero is back at state for the second straight year … Blackfoot senior won at the Inland Empire Challenge in a state-best 15:07 … Roberts leads the girls (17:46.5).

Defending champions: Sugar-Salem (boys); Snake River (girls).

Individual champions: McKenna Kozeluh, Coeur d’Alene Charter (girls).

Local qualifiers: Timberlake (boys); Coeur d’Alene Charter (boys and girls); Izabella Cornell (Timberlake girls).

Notes: Kozeluh, a senior, went from 24th as a sophomore to state champion as a junior for the Panthers … Her time of 17:38 at districts leads the state … Timberlake junior Jacob Barnhart was 16th as a freshman in 2020 and ninth as a sophomore in 2021 … Barnhart’s time of 15:59 at the Inland Empire Challenge is one second off the state-best by McCall-Donnelly senior Jack McManus … Sugar-Salem has won the last seven state titles dating back to 2015.

Returning champions: Cameron Moore, Ambrose (girls).

Local qualifiers: Kellogg (boys and girls).

Notes: Kellogg junior Makai Peak was 13th in the 3A race last year … Kellogg dropped to the 2A classification this year … Peak is currently third in the state (16:20) … Soda Springs senior Kayden Gentry leads at (15:53) set in Lewiston on Oct. 1 .. Wendell senior Jessica Duran leads with a time of 19:08.

Notes: Stockett leads with a best of 15:21 on Oct. 12 … Likewise, Black (19.07.7) also has the top time in the state … no local runners qualified.
