One killed in Moses Lake home fire Sunday morning

MOSES LAKE - A fire Sunday morning left one person dead at Harvest Manor Mobile Home Park in Moses Lake.

A report by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office stated that the fire was called in to MACC Dispatch about 8 a.m. to Harvest Manor Mobile Home Park, located at 4815 Airway Drive Northeast.

Upon arrival, Grant County Fire District #5, found a manufactured home fully engulfed in flames. One person had been able to escape the home but another was still inside. The release stated that firefighters tried to rescue the woman, who was in her 70s, left inside the home but the fire had progressed too far for the rescue to be possible.

The fire is under investigation by the Grant County Fire Marshal's Office, the release said, and the body of the deceased is in the care of Coroner Craig Morrison whose staff will conduct an autopsy. The release stated that the autopsy is normal procedure.

PULLMAN — Washington State University has released its President’s List for fall quarter 2024, which includes 117 students from the Columbia Basin, according to the announcement. A student qualifies for the President’s list if they maintain a grade point average of 3.75 or higher while enrolled in at least nine graded credits, or a GPA of 3.5 for at least 15 cumulative credits if the semester GPA is a 3.0 or better, according to the university.
